Possibilities
This feature (using Google Maps) is a lot more powerful than the old one (using Google Earth).
Of course you can do all familiar things, such as adding, removing, renaming
waypoints etc.
But they can be performed much easier.
You will like this even more: using Google Maps it is possible to display
your route! Not as just straight lines (as in Google Earth), but the complete
route, following the roads you will ride or drive.
Activate
Executing JavaScript must be enabled in your web browser to use this
feature!
Creating, editing and displaying files
To create, edit and display your itineraries (or POI files), you can forget
all you have learned about using Google Earth. Copying from one application
to another is no longer needed, because Google Maps if fully integrated into
Tyre: together they are just one application.
Adding new waypoints has never been easier: just click on the map somewhere.
Do you want to relocate a waypoint? Drag it to another location and drop
it there. It is as simple as that.
Edit existing or new waypoints? Just click on it and a popup screen will
appear that offers you all you need:
- information about the name, the longitude and latitude;
- the possibility to rename, delete, zoom, etc.
As described above: you don't need the pages that describe how to use
Google Earth. But the second half of the page that describes how to
create itineraries using Google Earth, also contains some remarks on
creating waypoints in general. Those remarks are important to consider
on creating waypoints using Google Maps as well.

Google Earth
Do you still want to use Google Earth? That is possible:
- Waypoints can be copied to Tyre just like before.
- A new speedbutton has been added: it will activate Google Earth and display
your waypoints (if you have them in your list).
Do you want to use Google Earth like in the older versions? That is possible too:
To activate Google Earth, open the 'Options' window and check the 'Use Google
Earth' option. That is all! Tyre will switch from using Google Maps to
using Google Earth instead.
