If you want to plan a beautiful route (to ride with your motorcycle),
you have to do the following:
|
|
-
Create enough waypoints in your route to make sure you will not
miss any beautiful spots you want to see or any beautiful roads
you want to ride.
-
Save the route on your computer.
-
Copy the routing file to your TomTom, in a folder called 'ITN'.
Just connect your TomTom with the USB cable to your computer.
Once your TomTom is connected to your computer, you can copy the
currently open route file to your TomTom: choose 'Copy to TomTom'
from the 'TomTom' menu.
(Of course you can use Windows Explorer to manipulate files as well.)
-
In your TomTom, change the following option (you have to do this only once):
Change preferences --> Planning preferences --> Ask me every time I plan --> Done --> Done
-
Open the route in your TomTom:
Itinerary planning --> Options --> Load Itinerary
You will be asked if you want to remove the current trip. Choose 'Yes'.
Choose the route you want to ride and confirm with 'Done'.
TomTom will ask you if you want to navigate to the destination of the
route. Choose 'Yes'.
At this point it is important to choose the 'SHORTEST ROUTE' and
confirm with 'Done'. You can choose 'AVOID HIGHWAYS' as an alternative.
(If you cannot choose the 'Shortest route' at this
point, you have to change the preferences of your TomTom. Go to
step 4 above.)
